Rescue of large sea turtle off Wailua Bay on Kauai Island in Hawaii by Tim Cavanaugh, Resident Manager of Wailua Bay View. At first the large trapped turtle fought him off, but then allowed itself to be cut free. This was an older large animal and they can grow to 8 feet in length and a ton in weight. It would have died if not released. Tackling this job is not for the faint hearted and Tim was recommended as a local hero by us. Taken with a small travel camera.
