Young Jaden Balmos, a Texas transplant, visits Hawaii several times a year to spend time with his grandfather, beach boy ‘Uncle Gil’, Gilbert Hisatake. He may be a future beach boy following in Unlce Gil’s footsteps.

Introducing the Miss Hawaii Teen USA 2013 Contestants
I sat down with the 2013 Miss Hawaii Teen USA contestants at their official photo shoot day, and I was amazed at how they responded to my challenging questions. There are other young ladies entering this pageant, but they were not available on this taping day for interviews. Pageant Directors Eric Chandler and Takeo Kobayashi are excited to be working with this motivated group of teen women. The pageant will be held Sunday Oct 21st -2012 at the Ala Moana Hotel. Can you pick out the young teen with that special charisma that will take her to the nationals?

Organized by Roy Sakuma in 1971, the annual Ukulele Festival at Kapiolani Park in Waikiki has grown internationally and is by far the largest ukulele festival of its kind in the world, with crowds of thousands, guest artists from around the world and an ukulele orchestra of hundreds of children. Roy Sakuma is Hawaii’s foremost ukulele teacher and proponent of the ukulele.
