The Castle Kona Bali Kai is an older, oceanfront budget
condominium that features moderately priced accommodations
right outside Kailua-Kona. The Kona Bali Kai has studios,
one, two and three bedrooms, with the studio featuring
a kitchenette and the other units featuring fully equipped
kitchens. There are two buildings, with one located on
the ocean side of Ali'i Drive and the other on the mountain
side.
On the ocean side, the building is cooled by the ocean
breezes and ceiling fans and on the mountain side with
air conditioners. The kitchenette and kitchens include
a stove, microwave, refrigerator, coffee/tea machine along
with cookware, dishes and utensils. The d?cor is island-style
with rattan furniture and floral fabrics with very spacious
lanais. Amenities include in-room safe (fee), radio/alarm
clock, washer/dryer in most units, Cable TV, free local
calls and more.
The Kona Bali Kai does not have an on-site restaurant,
but the bustling town of Kona is only a few miles away
where you can enjoy cuisines of every ethnic variety,
including the Tsunami Broiler, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company,
the very popular Chart House Restaurant and Hard Rock
Caf? to mention a few.
Property amenities include a small, well maintained swimming
pool and jet spa, sun deck, barbeque area for oceanside
grilling and picnic tables. The parking is complimentary;
there are laundry facilities (fee) and a sundry store
in the lobby area. You can also rent boogie boards and
surfboards at reasonable rates right in front of the condo.
There is a long, narrow lawn that runs the width of the
condo's oceanfront with lounge chairs available for lolling
in, watching the surf roll in. The beach is not suitable
for swimming because of the rocks, but just a mile south
is Kahaluu Beach Park, with some of the best snorkeling
available on the Big Island.
