The 3-Star gated condominium, Outrigger Kanaloa at Kona
is located on an outcropping of lava rock overlooking
beautiful Keahou Bay. The 18-acre ocean front
location is beautifully landscaped with lush tropical
plants and features 37 buildings of two and three floors
(stairs only) and is part of the Outrigger Hawaii Condominium
Collection.
The one and two bedroom units are very spacious with ceiling
fans, open beamed ceilings and large covered lanais to
enjoy the stunning views. Two bedroom units offer two
full bathrooms. Every unit is completely furnished in
an island décor with fully equipped kitchens, as well
as a washer/dryer. Amenities include Cable TV, direct
dial phone with voice mail, hair dryer, in-room safe (fee),
iron/board, dialup internet access (fee), bathtub/shower,
alarm clock radio and much more.
There are three swimming pools (family, adult only and
oceanfront), each with a sundeck, whirlpool and nearby
barbeque grills. Other property amenities include two
lighted tennis courts, picnic areas, Edward's Restaurant
serving breakfast, lunch and dinner next to the oceanfront
pool,four bars/cocktail lounges, complimentary parking
and complimentary wireless internet available in the lobby
and adjoining pool area. For golfers, the Kona Country
Club adjoins the Kanaloa at Kona and features 36 holes
of championship golf. There is a tour desk, luggage storage,
laundry/dry cleaning and best of all perhaps, a friendly,
helpful staff.
The condo is located only 7 miles south of the town of
Kona and a few minutes from the Keauhou Shopping Center.
One of the best places to snorkel in Hawaii is only a
mile north at Kahaluu Beach Park and well worth a visit.
Of course, what many people do who stay in condos is make
several of their meals "at home", saving money
for perhaps some special activities or dinners in the
process. And for some reason, preparing a meal while on
vacation in Hawaii and watching the sun set over the ocean
while eating it on your lanai, is not as much work as
at home. There is a Costco, Wal-Mart and Safeway in the
Kona area, as well as other smaller grocery outlets. Perfect
for picking up those steaks to barbeque by the pool or
items for morning breakfasts on the lanai. There is a
minimum of a two day stay at the Kanaloa at Kona, but
then again, why would anyone want to stay only one night
and miss out on all that is offered?
