anyone bicycled down Haleakala?

This sounds like it could be fun but I don't really want to get up that early in the morning if it's not worth it. I think they pick you up from your hotel at around 4 am! That's nuts!

Being on top of Haleakala at sunrise is one of the most beautiful sites you'll ever see. You should do that anyway regardless of it you choose to take the bike ride down.

I know a few people who have done the bike ride and they had a good time. They said it was cold and rainy though. I know the companies give you rain gear so that's not really a big deal but be sure to dress warmly if you go because it does get very cold up on Haleakala--below freezing and snow sometimes too!

wow, sunrise, is that true..??  i  love watching sunrise.  once i was  in Darjeeling for that.  and the memory is still  fresh  in my  mind and ofcourse bicycle is the best  transportation in  every field. i love bicycling.

My husband took me on this trip two years ago and it was awesome. You have to have a high tolerance for cold weather because it does get cold but its worth it. The reason why they want you to get up early is because its better to be up there when the sunrises because you get to see the beauty of it.
