How to describe this beautiful hotel? Think classic architecture
set among lush tropical gardens, filled with exotic flowers
of every color. Then add in the waterfalls that are scattered
around the property, two large pools, connected by "river
pools", Koi (Carp) ponds and five-acres of saltwater
swimming lagoons with islands that meander throughout
the property. Throw in torches flickering in the moonlight
as you stroll along the paths and byways of this marvelous
hotel and add in the works of art throughout the property
and you have described Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa.
The Grand Hyatt Kauai has 620 luxurious rooms, all with
wonderful views of the ocean, the hotel lagoons or the
Haupu Mountains. The rooms are approximately 600 sq. ft.
and include a separate sitting area and are decorated
in a classic island style with ceiling fans. The hotel's
Family Program offers no charge for children, age 18 and
under, occupying the same room with parents using existing
bedding. An amazing amount of amenities are offered in-room,
including CD Player, VCR, Bathrobes, Cable movie channels,
coffee maker with coffee, full bath amenities, Voice Mail,
high speed and wireless Internet access, hairdryer, computer
data port and so much more.
The hotel is home to five lounges as well as your choice
of five dining spots, from casual to elegant, including
Tidepools, a consistent winner of Honolulu Magazine's
prestigious Hale Aina award for fine dining on Kauai.
The hotel also hosts the authentic Drums of Paradise Luau
with wonderful food and entertainment. The Stevenson's
Library Lounge is a favorite of most guests with its 27-foot
hand-crafted Koa wood bar, a selection of fine cigars,
or a game of pool, backgammon or chess and a classic selection
of Ports and Cognacs. For the romantic, you can arrange
a private dinner beachside under the stars with your own
personal server and some delectable food.
There are two large freshwater pools, one an action pool
with waterfalls, 150-foot water slide, water volleyball,
basketball and a Jacuzzi. There are four tennis courts,
a fantastic Fitness Center with all the latest equipment
and the ANARA Spa that offers every possible service you
would desire from massages and facials to shampoos and
manicures. Then there is the 210-acre Poipu Bay Golf Course,
designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., ranked #14 in the
June 2005 Conde Nast Traveler's Top 100 Golf Resorts in
the U.S. For the children, Camp Hyatt has half-day, full-day
and evening sessions of Hawaiian style activities for
children ages 5 to 12. There is lei-making, Koi feeding,
tidepool explorations and Hawaiian arts & crafts.
The Grand Hyatt Kauai is an elegant, luxurious hotel with
fantasy grounds that will entertain you, enthrall you,
make you smile with wonder and perhaps, make you never
want to leave. Or at least to always return.

pools and adjacent "river pools". The upper
pool will be resurfaced from October 23 to November 5,
2006, with the lower pool resurfaced November 6 to 27,

be no lack of swimming options at this award-winning pool/river
complex. The 5-acre saltwater "swim & kayak"
lagoon will be open throughout. Offered to guests during
this time will be a complimentary shuttle service to nearby
Poipu Beach, Poipu Shopping Center and Old Koloa Town.
