The Hilton Kauai Beach Hotel and Resort is a full-service oceanfront resort that
features lush tropical landscaping, a wonderful pool area for the entire family
and a 3-mile beach to sun or stroll on.
The resort just completed a $17 million
enhancement that included travertine marble bathrooms, refurbishments
of all resorts buildings and upgrading the pool area and landscaping.
It's simply a beautiful resort with an ideal location,
fantastic staff and everything else one expects from a Hilton.
The air conditioned rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated in plantation-style furnishings all with either a patio or lanai. Room amenities include wireless internet access, complimentary toiletries, voice mail, USA Today newspaper delivered to the room, cable TV, mini refrigerator, two phones, the wonderfully comfortable Hilton Serenity Beds, in-room safe, coffee/tea maker, complimentary coffee and tea, hair dryer and so much more.
Dining spots include the very lovely open-air Naupaka Terrace Restaurant, offering either a buffet or ála carte breakfast. In the evening there is an extensive menu featuring hand cut midwestern aged beef and local seafood. On Saturday nights Naupaka hosts a delicious Prime Rib & Crab Buffet. It's very popular with local residents, so reservations are a must.
Shutters Lounge & Bar has appetizers and tropical drinks along with live music and entertainment nightly; the Driftwood Sand Bar & Grille offers lunch and light snacks during the day and in the evening, tropical drinks, steak and coconut shrimp casual dinners. There is also Paradise Roasters in the shopping arcade where they roast their own coffee beans for some delicious coffee.
The pool area includes a sand bottom oceanfront beach pool with a large slide,
a children's pool, two additional adult pools with a grotto and waterfalls as
well as two Jacuzzis, with both the pool and Jacuzzis open in the evening. There
is a beautiful grass area right past the sand bottom pool then the beach that
seems to go on forever - a fantastc place to watch a glorious sunrise - and well
worth getting up early for. The water can be rather rough and swimming is not
recommended, but a short distance away is Lydgate Park with a lifeguard and a
perfect place for safe swimming.
The Aolani Spa and Fitness Center offers various massages and treatments (fee)as well as fitness equipment for guests. There are four tennis courts (2 lit for night play), a volleyball court, Activities Desk and Concierge, complimentary Manager's cocktail party from 5 to 6 pm nightly at the Driftwood and a very beautiful torch lighting ceremony and Polynesian dance show, also nightly. They offer free shuttles for golfing and shopping and pickup at the airport.
But the most wonderful part of staying at the Hilton Kauai Beach Hotel and Resort is the atmosphere and the graciousness of the staff. Secluded from the hustle and bustle of many resort areas, this is a spot where the only sound you hear is the ocean and perhaps a rooster or two, where sunrises and sunsets are awe inspiring and where aloha is not just a word, but a way of life.
