Whaler's Cove at Poipu on the island of Kauai is a luxurious
4-star oceanfront property with only 39 condos in two,
four-story buildings. As you walk to your condo, you pass
through a beautiful orchid garden and perhaps you'll see
a glimpse of the infinity-edge pool and hot tub, or even
one of the 3 barbeque areas.
The condos feature 1 or 2 bedrooms, complete with full
kitchens, including dishwasher, oven, microwave, coffee
maker and refrigerator. There are beautiful Koa wood doors
and cabinets throughout each condo, ceiling fans, washers
and dryers, VCR, Cable/Satellite TV, CD Player, clock
radio, hair dryer, sofa bed, extra towels, linens and
bedding, maid service and free local calls. The condos
are a minimum of 1,300 sq. ft., featuring island tropical
décor. There are two bathrooms, most with a Jacuzzi tub
in the master bath. The lanais and patios are very large
and look out to the beauty of the Pacific Ocean.
On the east side of the property is a staircase leading
down to a cove that is home to many different marine life,
including Hawaii's endangered green turtles. It's simply
a wonderful spot for snorkeling. And, from about November
to April, the condo becomes the perfect spot to watch
for the annual migration of the Humpback Whales. The pool
is very special and a wonderful place to sit and watch
the ocean. Although Whaler's Cove is oceanfront, there
is no beach as such. There is however the sound of the
waves coming ashore and it is hard to find anything more
soothing to sleep to than that. But beautiful beaches
are only about a mile away in Poipu. There are two golf
courses about 2 miles away, as well as public tennis courts
and some great restaurants.
Kauai has some beautiful attractions, including what Mark
Twain called "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific",
Waimea Canyon, only 24 miles from the condo. It's a fantastic
sight to see the sun rise and watch the rays shoot down
into the canyon. There is also Kokee State Park, a little
beyond Waimea Canyon where there are hiking trails and
beautiful views. Explore Koloa Town, Hawaii's oldest sugar
plantation town; Hanapepe with all its art galleries;
or, Hanalei Bay, famous in song and sheer beauty. Then
there is the Na Pali Coast, best explored by boat excursion
for an experience you will remember a lifetime.
The luxurious Whaler's Cove at Poipu is the perfect place
for couples, whether you are celebrating an anniversary,
honeymoon, or just want to be somewhere far away to spend
time with each other. Out of the hustle and bustle of
the busier areas, but close enough to take advantage of
everything Kauai has to offer. Sit on the lanai, listen
to the ocean, see the stars come out and share a special
time with someone you love.
