Awesome video of the Hawaii tsunami paying us a visit in our normally calm backyard canal. Pay close attention, you can see the wave “barrel” on the left hand side, near the concrete drain. In over 20+ years of living here, I have NEVER seen anything like this. To the average person this probably looks unimpressive, but the video doesn’t do the wave justice. You had to be there in person to appreciate its epicness. Being a surfer, I wanted to jump in and ride it, but I didn’t want to end up in the tall grass. In retrospect, I should’ve done it. I probably won’t experience that again for a long time, if ever again. All in all, good experience, well worth staying up for 24+ hours and experiencing 4+ surges of waves. The most epic wave was the first one, as seen in this video here: www.youtube.com however, its pretty dark (filmed at 4am). The last wave in that video is quite visible. Again the video doesn’t do it justice. I saw a full on wave come down the canal, and actually was a tad bit scared for a second. Then I manned up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
