he 2-Star Aqua Aloha Surf is
located near the Ala Wai Canal with views of the Ko'olau Mountains and sparkling city views. The boutique
hotel has just finished a renovation that features bright
colors and a surf motif. The hotel is located several
blocks from Waikiki Beach, but it is an easy stroll where you pass by many shopping
areas and eateries of all types and prices.
The standard rooms do not have a lanai (balcony) and are
located on floors 2 and 3 and are smaller than the rest
of the rooms, with a maximum of two people. Superior
and Deluxe rooms feature larger rooms, private lanais
and one queen bed or one double and one twin bed as well
as a queen-size sofa-bed. The amenities include Flat Screen
TV with 36 cable channels, the Aqua KIT (microwave, mini-refrigerator
and coffee/tea maker), complimentary high speed internet
access, designer toiletries, complimentary Royal Kona Coffee, in-room safe, hair dryer, children 17 and
under stay free with parents and much more.
Upon arrival, every guest receives a welcome Oshibori
(cool towel) and signature Macadamia Nut and Coconut cookies.
Although the hotel does not have an on-site restaurant,
they do offer a complimentary Continental breakfast delivered
daily to your room and a Manager's Reception every Tuesday
from 5 to 6 featuring their signature drink "The
Wipeout". In your room you'll find an Aqua Hotels
& Resorts Dining & Entertainment Guide with valuable
coupons and offers good throughout Waikiki and Oahu.
Complimentary daily local newspapers are available in
the lobby as well as complimentary coffee & tea service
in the lobby from 7 am to Noon. The hotel has a small,
but very well maintained swimming pool with lounge chairs,
complimentary Wi-Fi access available at the pool and in
the lobby, nonsmoking rooms and floors, keycard service,
laundry facilities and daily maid and turn down service
upon request.
Guests at the hotel also receive free membership at the
Aqua Spa, located at sister property, the Aqua Bamboo
& Spa, a short walk away. The spa is referred to as
"pampering made affordable" and the prices certainly
are, featuring a choice of both 30 or 60 minute massages
of every type.
The Aqua Aloha Surf is considered a budget hotel because
of its reasonable prices and the fact that it is not beachfront,
but the hotel offers many amenities for those low prices.
For many guests, the location is ideal, away from the
noise of Waikiki, yet close enough to enjoy being in the
center of things.
So, if you want to lie around by the pool all day, have
room service a lot, this might not be the hotel for you.
But if you want to be active, explore the island and perhaps
come home from a day at the beach for a quick cooling
dip in the pool, plus save lots of money, try out the
Aqua Aloha Surf and see why they have so many return visitors.
Note:
The Aqua Aloha Surf will start necessary improvements
to their balconies approximately September 18 to 25, 2006.
The work will mainly affect the exterior of the building,
specifically the balconies and some areas of the parking
lot, which will be closed for approximately two weeks.
This will be followed by improvements to the guestroom
balconies. Common areas below the construction areas will
be closed, including the pool area when work is performed
above for approximately two weeks. The management will
make every effort to minimize any disturbance to their
guests.
