The OHANA
Maile Sky Court Hotel
is a good choice for the budget traveler. It has a good
location, in the quieter part of Waikiki
and just a walk across a beautiful park puts you on the
beach. The building is an older high rise with fabulous
ocean or city views on the higher floors.
The air conditioned rooms all feature a tropical décor,
with smaller bathrooms than in the newest hotels, but
very clean and well maintained, as it is throughout the
hotel. Amenities include direct dial telephone, voice
mail, wake up service, hair dryer, iron/board, refrigerator,
Cable TV with pay-for-view movies, Nintendo and much more.
Effective December 22, 2006, the Waikiki OHANA Hotels
will introduce an incredible package of complimentary
amenities including internet access, local and long distance
phone calls to U.S. & Canada, in-room safe, in-room
coffee daily, local newspaper, digital pagers for early
check-in guests and Passes for all guests in the room
for up to 5 days, on the Waikiki Trolley's Pink Line throughout
Waikiki and to Ala Moana Shopping Center.
Besides standard hotel rooms, there are Kitchenettes that
includes a microwave, cookware and tableware with toaster
and coffee percolator on request and a Studio Kitchenette
including a 2-burner stovetop, no microwave. It's a terrific
way to save money by preparing your own breakfast and
even lunch, then having more to spend on either activities
or dinners.
There are numerous restaurants in and near the Maile Sky Court, including the on-site
T.G.I.Friday's. A short walk
away is the popular Cheeseburger in Paradise, Keo's
Thai Restaurant, one of Honolulu's
most popular Thai restaurants, Tony Roma's and many more
in the area.
The OHANA
Maile Sky Court Hotel
features family friendly accommodations, with children
17 years and younger free when staying with parents in
existing beds. There is a swimming pool and sundeck, whirlpool
spa, a pool side bar with sports on TV, music, darts and
nightly drink specials with great Happy Hour prices from
10 am to 6 pm. There are laundry facilities, Business Center, luggage storage, Hospitality
Room (great if you have a late flight back home), ATM,
parking (fee) and much more.
If you intend to spend most of your time in your hotel
room and are expecting luxurious accommodations you will
have to spend hundreds of dollars more per night. If instead,
you are using the hotel as a base and as a clean, friendly
place to return to after a full days of activities, than
it would be hard to beat the Maile
Sky Court, which offers great value at reasonable prices.
