After a $30 million renovation in 2002, the upscale Resort/Quest
(formerly Aston) Waikiki Beach Hotel has been setting
Waikiki on fire! Along with the new
Tiki Grill & Bar, the hotel
is one of the hottest spots in town with its fabulous
new decor, great staff, the clever (and delicious) Breakfast
on the Beach and, of course, one of the most fantastic
locations, right across from Waikiki Beach.
The rooms are spacious, featuring striking colors and
cool decor. Some of the amenities include complimentary
in-room high speed internet access, cable tv, hairdryer, iron & board, refrigerator and safe.
Every guest receives a carry all in their room for the
free breakfast, served al fresco from 6:30 to 9:30 pm
by the pool, or you can ask about the free beach chairs
the hotel provides and go eat your breakfast right on
the beach.
Fortunately for guests staying at the hotel, the room
service is provided by one of Honolulu's
hottest new restaurants, Tiki's
Grill & Bar. Located pool level of the hotel, Tiki's
serves lunch & dinner and features a very varied menu,
including many local favorites. To put it simply, the
food is really wonderful and the prices are really reasonable.
Picture yourself sitting outside under an umbrella, overlooking
Waikiki Beach and the Pacific Ocean, with gentle
trade winds, tiki torches flickering
in the moonlight and the mellow sounds of live contemporary
Hawaiian music. Add some Kalua
Pig Quesadillas, or Korean-style garlic chicken wings
or fresh Ahi sashimi to nibble on and a tropical cocktail and
you're just this side of heaven.
The hotel has been described as "Aloha with an Attitude"
and "Hip Hawaiian", but however it is described
one thing is certain. This is a really great hotel with
a great location, a wonderful staff and prices that are
unusually low for such a property. Check it out for yourself
and see what everyone is raving about.
Note:
The ResortQuest Waikiki Beach
Hotel will be undergoing a $13 million enhancement, which
is expected to be completed by October 1, 2006. All 644
guest rooms will receive new wallpaper, carpet, beds,
credenzas, flat screen TVs and art work. Bathrooms will
be upgraded to include new make up mirrors, wall mounted
hair dryers and new amenities. Guest room corridors will
also be refurbished. The hotel does not expect any guest
services or amenities to be impacted by the work on the
rooms, which will be done by floor, with unoccupied buffer
floors inbetween floors being worked on. Anticipated noise
is expected to very minimal.
The hotel will be smoke free upon completion of the
renovations in October.
