Today we returned to Nu’uanu Valley to connect 3 Hikes together which hadn’t been done yet, at least not through my network. When I first filmed this location it was with the Caveman for the first time, but we never connected Lulumahu Falls, Kaniakapupu Ruins and Luakaha Falls together and never visited the Upper Falls. I had previously went with my friend Brad a few weeks ago and we made a good go of it knowing I would be filming a video here soon, but I felt I didn’t rightfully explore the connection between Kaniakapupu Ruins and Luakaha Upper & Lower Falls. Friend Lonnie, Ronja and I made a solid go of it and made it through what I believe to be the cleanest and easiest connecting path, but I chose not to film Lower Luakaha this time around. With Lower Luakaha Falls, in all it’s GLORY, truly being on PRIAVTE LAND (Someone’s backyard) I have chosen to minimize my visits and footage of this location. I do plan in the future to speak with the Estate owners about possibly visiting this location…Even if they request notification/Permit or even Payment I have no issue with that as it’s obvious the cost of maintaining such a location can easily get out of control and sponsoring or supporting the Estate Owners and their maintenance would be helpful for them in the preservation of this beautiful and sacred historical location.
