Yvonne Elliman – If I Can’t Have You Live 1978

“If I Can’t Have You” is a disco song written by Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees. The song was intended to be included in the follow-up album to Children of the World (1976), but was given to singer Yvonne Elliman when the Bee Gees became involved in the production of the movie Saturday Night Fever (1977) in which the song, and also in the subsequent soundtrack, appeared. Elliman’s version became an international smash hit, and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and #4 in the UK. The song, as sung by the Bee Gees, was released as the B-side to the single “Stayin’ Alive” in 1978 and also appeared in the 2001 compilation Bee Gees Their Greatest Hits: The Record. A remixed version of The Bee Gees recording was released on the remastered version of Bee Gees Greatest in 2007 and marked the return of The Bee Gees to the US Hot Dance Tracks charts after 28 years. ______________________________________ Elliman’s singing career began in the early 1970s in London where she performed as a vocalist at various bars and clubs. This led to a recording contract and later in Miami a close association as a backing vocalist for Eric Clapton. Aloha – The Pit and the Pendulum

Here is the first track to Aloha’s Beg for Mercy demo. Aloha was a metal band from Hawaii with a female lead singer and Marty Friedman on guitar before he joined Megadeth. They were, originally, called Vixen, but they changed their name to Aloha before they were featured on Metal Massacre 2 with the song Heavy Metal Virgin. Original Airdate – January 24, 1987 Iola shows up to announce the Church Ladies League is setting up a trip to Hawaii. The vacation will run $900 per person, which would wipe out Mama’s savings. While Naomi wants her and Vint to go, but it would costs them twice as much. Vint wants to use the money on a “new” used pick-up truck, the pick-up of his dreams. Which results in a fight between them. Meanwhile, Bubba is about apply for a job at a burger joint, when Mama sees his application and forces him to re-write it. After the manager tells Bubba he’s had a lot of applicants, Mama (trying to get Bubba a job) talks her way into a job at the restaurant. Both end up getting a job and start on the same morning. Mama first starts out being nice and too slow for the Manager’s liking (Bubba had already waited on four customers to Mama’s one), she then goes for speed and is too rude for his liking, so he tells her he’ll give her one more chance. That’s when the family comes in with Iola. Naomi goes over to Bubba, and Iola wants lunch instead of breakfast, so Mama gets fed up and throws a huge fit, and gets herself fired.
