Crooks & Castles’ Dennis Calvero Revisits Launch Of Mosley Tribes Castellano Shades Collabo

2012 is a big year for Los Angeles-based Crooked & Castles. Beginning with 10 tees a decade ago, the brand has evolved into a full line, boasting everything from denim and footwear to cut-n-sew and wovens, all the way to woman’s and even toddler’s. Along the way, they’ve also released a slew of special projects, one being their iconic collabo with eyewear brand Mosley Tribes, teaming up for special edition versions of their Castellano frames. Following the initial release in matte black, Crooks re-released them a few years back in a gloss black. This week, in celebration of their decade milestone, the brand has brought back the Castellano in two colorways, including a re-release of the original matte black, and a new tortoise version. With the importance of the release and the occassion with caught up with Crooks & Castles co-founder/creative designer Dennis Calvero to revisit how the Mosley Tribes x Crooks collab first came about, the thought-process behind the design, and the impact the frames had on fashion and the brand.
