Dolphin birth captured on camera in Hawaii

A dolphin has been filmed giving birth to a female calf in a Hawaii resort. Footage of the birth shows the calf emerging from its mother tail first before immediately swimming off. The birth occurred in a man-made lagoon at Dolphin Quest Hawaii, where visitors can swim with dolphins. The dolphin calf will be monitored closely over the next 30 days as this is the most critical period for the new-born, Julie Rocho-Levine from Dolphin Quest Hawaii said. The baby dolphin will be named when it is one month old, officials said.
