Taken with my SeaLife 1200 in July 2012 off of the Big Island of Hawaii. I was doing my best to get out of his or her way, but it just kept coming closer. At first you will hear giggles then a little primordial scream as it rubs me as it swims by. Now logically, I know that manta rays won’t hurt ya, but tell that to the part of me that still hears “Jaws” music everything I go for a nighttime swim, dive, or snorkle! 😉 Enjoy!

Manta Ray Snorkle
Taken with my SeaLife 1200 in July 2012 off of the Big Island of Hawaii. The mantas come up to eat the plankton attracted to the large lights on the bottom of the boats. We must have seen at least 20 ranging from 4′ to maybe 8′ across (it’s really hard to accurately judge size underwater). Forgive the shakiness – I am snorkling/floating and completely at the mercy of the waves.
Spinner Dolphins
Taken with my SeaLife 1200 in July 2012 off of the Big Island of Hawaii. Snorkling with Spinner Dolphins. I apologize for all the movement – I was swimming my heart out to keep up with them, you’ll see me almost run over another snorkler in my way, Opps! These Spinners were not the friendliest dolphins I have had the pleasure to swim with, but they were a delight to see! 🙂
