Bill learned this song off of the Gabby Pahinui Hawaiian Band album that included Gabby’s sons, such as Bla, Martin, Philip, and Cyril. Ry Cooder was also on that album produced on the Panini label in the early 1970s. It is a great song!

Royal Hawaiian Hotel
This song was written in 1927 to honor the opening of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, the pink hotel located in Waikiki in Honolulu, Hawaii. The hotel is still standing and doing well. Having a Mai Tai at the beach bar at sunset while listening to live Hawaiian music and watching hula dancers has to be one of the nicest experiences one can have.
