Kahaluu Bay – Kailua Kona, Hawaii – May 18, 2012
This is a good snorkeling spot near Kailua Kona. The video isn’t as sharp as it should be. I am told that underwater video recorded on GoPro cameras is out of focus because the portion of the waterproof housing that covers the lens is curved. This curved part distorts the image. There is an aftermarket fix that consists of a replacement housing that is flat over the lens area but it retails for more than 1/3 the cost of the GoPro. Unless you have plenty of $’s I recommend waiting for GoPro to fix the design flaw. Special thanks to Jason and Joseph for the snippet. Aloha !

Surfing the Bonzai Pipeline! – Hawaii Part 5 Oahu
It’s Hawaii Week! Join me & Kim for some goofy fun in paradise! Part 1: youtu.be Part 2: youtu.be Part 3: youtu.be Part 4: youtu.be This was our bonus FREE trip to Oahu this past Christmas! Kim won two free flights and a few nights in Waikiki (from a raffle to raise money for Japan Tsunami relief) and we had a blast visiting Oahu for the first time! Also, everyone who visits Hawaii needs to attend a luau at least once — but make sure it’s in a beautiful location and not on a concrete rooftop! 🙂 Hawaiian Music by Daniel Ho www.youtube.com www.danielho.com opening theme instrumentation and incidental music by Kevin MacLeod http Vocals by Greg Benson Hawaii Five-O-ish music provided by Jewelbeat www.jewelbeat.com See more of Greg’s Travels! http Oahu is the third largest of the Hawaiian Islands and the most populous of the islands in the US state of Hawaii. Snow in Hawaii 2012: Mauna Kea
Music: “NIBIRU” by Pasha iTunes: bit.ly Driving up Mauna Kea Hawaii 2012 was crazy and awesome. 30% less oxygen in the cold atmosphere makes it hard to breathe and move around, so a short hike to the peak at 13796ft was more challenging than anticipated. The snow cover was unpredictable with exposed and unexposed rocks. Some areas looked ridable! I could not resist the temptation to ride down the mountain on a bodyboard rental. Dangerous, but worth the thrill. (fine print: do not attempt)
