Aloha Beach Resort Kauai

Recently renovated, the Aloha Beach Resort Kauai is located on historic Wailua Bay. Situated next to the only navigable river in Hawaii, the Wailua, it is an area of cultural and historical significance where Hawaiian royalty once lived, worshiped and greeted the sunrise each morning. Adjacent to the resort is Kauai's only known petroglyphs and some of Hawaii's most sacred Heiaus (ancient Hawaiian temples) including City of Refuge and Malae, one of island's largest Heiaus. Centrally located on the island of Kauai, the resort is ideal to enjoy all the wonderful attractions of this most beautiful island.

The air conditioned rooms are very spacious and decorated in island décor, with a choice of garden, beach or ocean views. All rooms have direct dial phones with data ports, voicemail, wake-up service, cable TV, bath products, mini refrigerator, hair dryer, coffee/tea maker, Playstation and many other amenities. Children 19 and under stay free with parents, using the existing bedding.

The ocean view location features two swimming pools, mini fitness center, Jacuzzi, picnic tables, tennis and volleyball courts and shuffleboard. Adjacent to the property is Lydgate Beach Park, with two protected lagoons for both swimming and snorkeling. You can rent kayaks to paddle up the river to a spot where you can then hike to a lovely waterfall. Plan in advance and bring a picnic lunch with you and paddle around the pool at the bottom of the fall – it's cold, but refreshing.

Palms is the resort's restaurant for breakfast and romantic dining in the evening with stunning sunset views. For lunch and cocktails there is the poolside Kahanu Bar & Grill, overlooking the ocean and for a tropical drink or two be sure to visit the Kuhio Lounge, where they host a Happy Hour daily from 5 to 6 pm.

The Aloha Beach Resort Kauai's Luau is considered one of the very best, featuring traditional Hawaiian hula, chants and music in a beautiful outdoor setting. The delicious Kalua Pork is cooked in an ancient Hawaiian underground oven, called an Imu and is served with a wonderful selection of other entrees and sides.

For those who want to know more about the customs and culture of the ancient Hawaiians, the resort has a wonderful Hawaiian Cultural Program that includes a weekly sunrise chant with Kupuna Akana (fee), The Myths and Legends of Sacred Wailua, Hawaiian Language & Values, Hawaiian Musical Instruments (fee) various tours including one of Hawaiian medicinal plants, displays of Hawaiian artifacts, demonstrations of various Hawaiian crafts and classes in Hawaiian craft making for both adults and children (fee).
