Life goes on in Clintonville — as does the search for the source of the mysterious noises. And Clintonville residents are speculating. The marquee outside of Calvary Apostolic Church reads, “God is shaking our city. Let’s have a revival!” So as some speculate and city leaders search, some residents say not knowing the cause has them on edge. “They had a test on the radio, or on the TV the other day and I was getting scrambled to grab the kids and go,” said Heather Fletcher, a mother of two. Fletcher says she has trouble sleeping at night, wondering what could happen to her, or her children. “I kind of don’t want to be here at all,” said Fletcher. “We’re still waiting for answers. I don’t know what to think?” City Administrator Lisa Kuss says reports of the booming from Tuesday night to Wednesday diminished compared to previous nights. There were only two major events from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. One event happened at around 8 pm that fielded about 10 calls. A second event happened shortly before 5 am which brought about 25 calls. Kuss says most theories involving manmade causes have been ruled out. Garrett McNamara breaks the world record for the largest wave ever surfed. Garrett was towed into a rogue wave in Portugal, at the North Canyon — 90ft (30 yards of wave). Impressive. Garrett McNamara makes history again by breaking the current Garrett McNamara caught a monstrous wave this week off Nazaré in Portugal, but did the wave face measure anywhere close to 90 feet, as a witness in the surfer’s group implied and as news reports suggested? Is it the largest wave ever ridden, as stated in the headline of a news release issued after the epic tow-surfing session? It was, without doubt, an amazing performance by the big-wave surfing icon from Hawaii. The wave face, however, might appear to some to fall significantly short of 90 feet. It’s worth noting, though, that footage captured from up high or far away, as was mostly the case here (there is some helmet-cam footage), can be misleading. A more accurate perspective can be obtained from up-close, at water level. McNamara was tow-surfing with partner Andrew Cotton at the helm of the jet-ski when the huge set rolled in. Al Mennie was aboard a separate personal watercraft, and acting as lifeguard from the channel. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a 2008 adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg, executive produced by George Lucas and starring Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. Set in 1957, this fourth film in the Indiana Jones film series has an older and wiser version of Indy battling agents of the Soviet Union—led by Spalko (Cate Blanchett)—for the crystal skull. Indy is assisted by his former lover Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) as well as the greaser Mutt (Shia LaBeouf) and fellow archaeologist Mac (Ray Winstone). John Hurt and Jim Broadbent also play fellow academics. The film was in development hell since the 1989 release of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, because Spielberg and Ford initially disagreed over Lucas’s choice of the skulls as the plot device. Screenwriters Jeb Stuart, Jeffrey Boam, M. Night Shyamalan, Frank Darabont and Jeff Nathanson wrote drafts, before a script by David Koepp satisfied all three men in 2006. Shooting finally commenced on June 18, 2007, and took place at locations in New Mexico, New Haven, Connecticut, Hawaii, Fresno, California, and soundstages in Los Angeles. In order to keep aesthetic continuity with the previous films, there will be minimal use of computer-generated imagery and more of a reliance on traditional stuntwork, and cinematographer Janusz Kaminski has adapted his style to that of Douglas Slocombe from the previous films.
