Hawaii Ironman Triathlon 2011 World Championships

The, Hawaii Ironman 2011 World Championship triathlon race in Kona, Hawaii, brought about some of the toughest and strongest mentally focused athletes in the world to race over 140 miles distance in some some of the most outrageous terrain imaginable. We wanted to produce this short video clip to inspire people, period. The discipline and determination, mental focus, physical fitness and positive mental attitude that it takes to compete in a race like this, brings out many of the top qualities that human beings are capable of. And to us, that is worth sharing with the world. This year we wanted to focus on the biomechanics of the professionals in this race, and the “story” of the race. It was a great year, the men’s world record was broken by Craig Alexander and Chrissie Wellington finished 20 minutes behind the first leader, after the bike, and still managed to run down all of her competition to come in first. Not all of us are cut out to be world class triathletes, but we sure can admire all of the qualities that it takes to get there. After watching this race, you will want to get your running shoes on, and we suggest that you do, after all your health is your wealth. We were fortunate enough to be allowed to use Peter Bergmann’s remix of Hans Zimmer,Time, for the music, you can find this download at www.facebook.com www.TriAddict.com TriAddict

Moani House

Our country beach house is located on the Island of Oahu approximately one hour from Honolulu and the Airport. The house is a six bedroom, four bath, two-story home on an acre beach lot with an outdoor jacuzzi overlooking the ocean, an all sport court ( paddle tennis, basket ball, and badmiton), and is in a fenced compound. We have just completed remodeling the bathrooms ( February 2010) There is a massage deck and hammock hidden in tree covered grove with privacy only yards from the beach. There is also an outdoor dining area that seats 10 under the trees for that perfect barbeque. There are beautiful views of the ocean from thewrap-around decks. Each floor has a master bedroom overlooking the ocean and there is a full kitchen on each floor so it is designed to accommodate two families. It is literally one of the most beautiful protected bays in the Islands. Many of the older families in Honolulu have their private beach homes on this bay. The house is a quiet, upscale property which is popular with local artists, writers, etc. Due to the many bedrooms, spacious shared areas, and vast outdoor spaces, this home is a perfect location for large family vacations, reunions, weddings, parties, and other events. Imagine saying “I Do” as the sunsets over the Hawaiian ocean, or enjoying a BBQ with the family on our beautiful lawn. No matter what your vacation plans are, this home will create memories you will never forget. For more details visit lavishgetaways.com

Living By Lava In Kalapana, Hawaii

Rivers and waves of molten lava continue to destroy the remaining coastline beside the community of Kalapana, on the Southeast shore of Hawaii Island. Though conditions change constantly, it is currently an 8 mile round trip to see the lava’s leading edge. Since 1983, the fiery flows have kept pouring from Kilauea, the longest erupting volcano during the last 200 years. In 1985 Cheryl Adler arrived in Kalapana, a peaceful seaside community. Adler owns private land that is the staging ground for the lava tours in Kalapana, and shares its use with other lava tour guides. The guides help each other finding the flows and watching out for each other’s safety. Lava destroyed Kalapana homes and hangouts as recently as 2010. Although endangered by the continual flows, Adler and the community have planted new life on the edge of the lava field. People come to Kalapana for days and weeks to hike and hunt the red glow of lava. And some will stay as long as time allows. Advanced hikers can take their own lava trek by visiting www.LavaRefuge.com or calling (808) 987-3456. From the newest land on earth, this is Caleb Vegh with Grassroots News.
